Taylor Swift tribute in Urbana this week: How to go

One of the hottest tickets in live entertainment the past few years has been the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. That’s assuming you could score a ticket, one that could end up costing quite a bit, and then traveling to a large city and navigating the crowds on top of it all.

If the music and energy are the attraction, there’s another outlet available: Are You Ready for It? A Taylor Experience will fill that need at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Gloria Theatre, 216 S. Main St., Urbana.

The show is presented by the Stars on Stage series and tickets are still available.

The Stars on Stage series brings a variety of genres and entertainment, from country to pop to doo wop. In planning this year’s Stars on Stage series, Staci Weller, CEO of the GrandWorks Foundation which operates the Gloria Theatre, previously said an act like this can attract a younger audience who may be influenced to attend future Stars on Stage shows.

The family-friendly show will include a live band and several costume changes for Traci Marie, who portrays Taylor Swift. The show was a Tribute Artist of the Year nominee at the Josie Music Awards.

Tickets cost $32-52. To purchase tickets online or for more information go to gloriatheatre.org/. The next Stars on Stage event will be “A1A: The Official and Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band” on June 14.
